The invention relates to a process for stabilising particulate alkali metal percarbonate by coating it with an aqueous solution, preferably concentrated, of a complex formed from a boric acid or borate and an organic diol, polyol or hydroxycarboxylic acid. The coat can additionally contain an alkali metal neutral salt such as sodium chloride or sodium sulphate.
