A meter-base electrical service shield comprises a releasable, electrically insulating, clip-on cowling for engaging in frictionally secured, fixed relation in a meter-base housing. The cowling is adapted to at least partially surround a line-side, meter-base terminal block, and to thereby co-operate with the housing to generally physically surround and electrically isolate the line-side terminal block from proximal load-side electrical fittings located in the meter base.
