A method and apparatus for maintaining a determinate operational state for a controller (12) is provided that involves supplying an input voltage to the controller (12) via a main power supply (16) and periodically supplying a voltage step pulse to the controller (12) in addition to the input voltage being supplied to the controller (12) by the main power supply (16) so that the voltage step pulse does not affect the controller's operational state when that state is determinate and so that the voltage step pulse will cause the controller (12) to enter a reset mode when the state is indeterminate because of a low input voltage level being supplied via the main power supply (16). The voltage step pulse is continuously and periodically supplied to the controller (12) via a low voltage reset circuit (10) regardless of the voltage level being supplied to the controller (12) via the main power supply (16).
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de maintenir un contrôleur (12) à un état de fonctionnement déterminé, et ce, par l'alimentation du contrôleur (12) en tension d'entrée via une alimentation électrique principale (16), puis en fournissant périodiquement au contrôleur (12) une impulsion de palier de tension en complément de la tension d'entrés en cours de fourniture au contrôleur (12) par l'alimentation électrique principale (16) de façon que l'impulsion de palier de tension n'affecte par l'état de fonctionnement du contrôleur lorsque cet état est déterminé et que l'impulsion de palier de tension n'amène pas le contrôleur (12) à passer en mode réinitialisation lorsque l'état est indéterminé en raison de l'alimentation d'un bas niveau de tension d'entrée via l'alimentation électrique principale (16). La fourniture de l'impulsion de tension au contrôleur (12) via un circuit de réinitialisation basse tension (10) est continue et périodique, quel que soit le niveau de tension en cours de fourniture au contrôleur (12) via l'alimentation électrique principale (16).
