This invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for enteral or parenteral administration comprising a macrolide and an acid. The pharmaceutical composition may be solid or liquid. The macrolide may be formulated into a microemulsion preconcentrate or emulsion preconcentrate and combined with an amount of acid. The acid-stabilised composition may be administered enterally, orally or parenterally. The pharmaceutical composition provides for increased bioavailability of the active agent.
