An electronic system serves as a single point of integration for all electronic health care information systems. A physician selects a diagnosis, which is converted from the physician's preferred terminology to a standard ICD diagnosis. The system then proposes a preferred treatment appropriate to the selected diagnosis (408). The physician can change any items of the proposed treatment plan (406), with changes being checked against payor rules (408), prior patient information and selected authority guidelines. If a diagnosis/treatment element is not authorized by the payor for the selected diagnosis, the system notifies the physician, allowing changes (412) or offering electronic request for payor authorization. The system may indicate those diagnoses for which payor allows said elements, allowing the physician to choose a diagnosis that is consistent with the patient's symptoms and supports the desired treatment. Upon accepting a diagnostic/treatment plan (420), the plan elements are carried out automatically (422).
L'invention concerne un système électronique servant de point unique d'intégration de tous les systèmes électroniques d'information en matière de soins de santé. Le médecin choisit un diagnostic, qui est converti de la terminologie préférée du médecin en un diagnostic selon la classification internationale des maladies (ICD) normalisée. Le système propose ensuite un traitement préféré convenant au diagnostic choisi (400). Le médecin peut modifier n'importe quel élément du plan de traitement proposé (406), les modifications étant contrôlées par rapport aux règles de payeur (408), aux informations antérieures données au patient et aux lignes directrices des autorités choisies. Si l'élément de diagnostic/traitement n'est pas autorisé par le payeur pour le diagnostic choisi, le système en avise le médecin, ce qui permet d'apporter des modifications (412) ou de soumettre une demande électronique à l'autorisation du payeur. En outre, le système peut indiquer les diagnostics pour lesquels le payeur autorise lesdits éléments, le médecin pouvant alors choisir un diagnostic qui soit conforme aux symptômes du patient et favorable au traitement désiré. Dès l'acceptation d'un plan de diagnostic/traitement (420), les éléments du plan sont exécutés automatiquement (422).
