A novel gene 202P5A5 and its encoded protein, and variants thereof, are described wherein 202P5A5 exhibits tissue specific expression in normal adult tissue, and is aberrantly expressed in the cancers listed in Table I. Consequently, 202P5A5 provides a diagnostic, prognostic, prophylactic and/or therapeutic target for cancer. The 202P5A5 gene or fragment thereof, or its encoded protein, or variants thereof, or a fragment thereof, can be used to elicit a humoral or cellular immune response; antibodies or T cells reactive with 202P5A5 can be used in active or passive immunization.
L'invention se rapporte à un nouveau gène 202P5A5 et à la protéine qu'il code, ainsi qu'à des variantes de cette dernière. Le gène 202P5A5 présente une expression spécifique du tissu dans un tissu adulte normal, et il est exprimé de manière aberrante dans les cancers dont la liste est donnée dans la table I. En conséquence, 202P5A5 permet d'obtenir une cible diagnostique, pronostique, prophylactique et/ou thérapeutique pour le cancer. Ce gène 202P5A5 ou un fragment de ce gène, ou la protéine qu'il code, ou des variants de cette protéine ou un fragment de celle-ci peuvent être utilisés pour provoquer une réponse immunitaire humorale ou cellulaire ; des anticorps ou des lymphocytes T réagissant avec 202P5A5 peuvent être utilisés en immunisation active ou passive.
