- 21 - Abstract A phytosanitary agent which contains I) at least two amino acids and/or natural carboxylic acids or their derivatives or salts, II) purines and/or pyrimidines or their derivatives and III) vitamins or derivatives or precursors thereof, there being about 0.001 to 1 part by weight of a single compound of group II) and about 0.001 to 1 part by weight of a single compound of group III) for about 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a single compound of group I), is described. This agent opens up the widest variety of possible uses. It is preferably used for preventing and controlling plant diseases of biotic origin and for increasing and ensuring the yield of crop plants. It displays its activity especially when used together with extracts from fermentation products (for example com- posts), whose intrinsic action it enhances. Within the scope of the possible uses mentioned above, the desired effects are achieved even when only one amino acid is present in the composition described.
