The invention is a system for measuring the rate of food pellet loss in a fish farming operation. The fish are held in a sea cage in a body of water. Food dropped into the sea cage sinks down through the cage and uneaten pellets exit the bottom of the sea cage. An echo transducer below the cage generates an echo pattern that is converted into pellet loss data.

L'invention concerne un système (10) servant à mesurer le taux de perte en granulés alimentaires dans le cadre d'un élevage piscicole. Les poissons sont placés dans une cage de mer (14) au fond de l'eau. Les granulés lâchés dans la cage de mer(14) coulent et passent à travers la cage et ceux qui ne sont pas mangés sortent par le fonds de la cage (14). Un transducteur de son (12) placé sous la cage produit un tracé d'écho converti en données correspondant aux pertes en granulés alimentaires.
