The protection system protects a fire hydrant. The protection system includes a nozzle, a protection device, and a bracket assembly. The nozzle defines a bore, is in fluid communication with an interior of the fire hydrant, and is adaptable to receive a fire hose. The protection device is carried by the bore of the nozzle for prohibiting access into the interior of the fire hydrant from the exterior. The protection device includes a first position for preventing access into the fire hydrant from the exterior, and a second position wherein water can flow from inside the fire hydrant externally via the nozzle. The bracket assembly is coupled to the protection device for rotating the protection device and carried by the nozzle, wherein the bracket assembly has sufficient rotational travel for enabling the protection device to move from the first position to the second position, depending on the water pressure.
Un système de protection protège une borne d'incendie. Ce système de protection comprend une buse, un dispositif de protection et une console. La buse détermine un alésage, est en communication fluide avec l'intérieur de la borne d'incendie, et est adaptable pour recevoir un boyau d'incendie. Le dispositif de protection est porté par l'alésage de la buse pour empêcher l'accès dans la borne d'incendie de l'extérieur. Ledit dispositif de protection comprend une première position pour empêcher l'accès dans la borne d'incendie de l'extérieur, et une seconde position par laquelle l'eau peut circuler de l'intérieur de la borne d'incendie vers l'extérieur par la buse. La console est accouplée au dispositif de protection pour faire tourner ce dispositif porté par la buse, par lequel la console présente une rotation suffisante pour permettre au dispositif de protection de se déplacer de la première position à la seconde, suivant la pression de l'eau.
