Methods, systems, and computer program instructions for providing location- independent packet routing and secure access in a wireless networking environment, enabling client devices to travel seamlessly within the environment. Each client device (330) uses a constant address. An address translation process that is transparent to the client (330) and server (300) is automatically performed as the device roams through the environment, enabling efficient client migration from one supporting access point to another. Packets sent to and from a client device pass through a Foreign Addess Masquerader, or "FAM" (340). The device's outbound packets (350a) are forwarded (350b) by the FAM to the destination server (300). Inbound packets from the server are sent (360a) to the device's Home Address Masquerader, or "HAM" (310), and are then forwarded (360b) to the FAM, which sends them (360c) to the device. A roaming coordinator (320) enables HAM and FAM connectivity and discovery, and connection migration.
L'invention concerne des procédés, des systèmes, et des instructions de programme informatique destinés à mettre en oeuvre un acheminement par paquets indépendant de la position et un accès sécurisé dans un environnement réseau sans fil, et permettant à des appareils client de se déplacer en continu dans l'environnement réseau. Chaque appareil client (330) emploie une adresse constante. Un procédé de traduction d'adresse invisible pour le client (330) et pour le serveur (300) est effectué automatiquement lorsque l'appareil se déplace dans l'environnement, permettant ainsi une migration efficace des clients d'un point d'accès support à un autre. Les paquets envoyés et reçus par un appareil client passent au travers d'un élément de déguisement d'adresse étrangère (FAM) (340). Les paquets (350a) quittant l'appareil sont réacheminés (350b) par l'élément de déguisement d'adresse étrangère vers le serveur destinataire (300). Les paquets reçus par le serveur sont envoyés (360a) à l'élément de déguisement d'adresse piste (HAM) (310) de l'appareil, puis réacheminés (360b) à l'élément de déguisement d'adresse étrangère envoyant lesdits paquets (360c) à l'appareil. Un coordinateur d'itinérance (320) permet de connecter l'élément de déguisement d'adresse piste et l'élément de déguisement d'adresse étrangère, et la migration de la connexion.
