The disclosed invention is an air-cleaning apparatus which is mounted on a wall 14 and collects particulates within the air by means of electrical control. It comprises a box which is mounted on a wall and houses a dust-collection unit 23 which collects particulates suspended in the air by imparting a corona electric charge and rendering them electrostatic, along with an air fan (cross-flow fan) 27 for blowing air, the lower section of the abovementioned box being provided with an air outlet 28, and its upper section with forward-protruding air duct 18, which has an air inlet 26 on its leading edge.
