The invention concerns an intrauterine contraceptive device comprising a support (41), and constituents (42, 43) releasing an active substance. The invention is characterised in that the active substance consists of copper presenting a surface of 100 to 250 mm?2¿ and a steroid of the progesterone family whereof the release rate ranges between 10 and 70 % of the current minimum release rate for said steroid when used as active contraceptive substance.

La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif intra-utérin comportant un support (41), et des constituants (42, 43) libérant une substance active. Selon l'invention, la substance active est constituée de cuivre présentant une surface de 100 à 250 mm2 et d'un stéroïde de la famille de la progestérone dont le taux de libération se situe entre 10 et 70 % du taux de libération minimum en usage pour le stéroïde concerné lorsqu'il est utilisé comme matière anticonceptionnelle active.
