A lock for securing a window sash against a window frame, including a housing mountable on a face of the window frame, and a handle extending generally longitudinally between first and second ends and pivotable in the housing about an axis disposed substantially halfway between the handle ends and oriented substantially transverse to the handle longitudinal direction. The handle includes a pivot at each handle end, and a pivot link is pivotably securable on one end to a window locking mechanism and pivotably securable on its other end to a selected one of the handle pivots. The housing has a substantially planar first face which is substantially the entire surface of the handle visible in the housing opening when the handle is in the first position and is substantially co-planar with the housing first face when the handle is in the first position. A slide is selectively movable into a recess in one of the handle ends to block pivoting ofthe handle. Manual movement of the handle from the first position to the second position may be initiated by pushing the actuator first face at one end.

Le dispositif comprend un logement monté sur une des faces du cadre de fenêtre, ainsi qu'une poignée se prolongeant généralement longitudinalement entre une première et une seconde extrémités. La poignée pivote dans le logement sur un axe disposé essentiellement à mi-chemin entre les extrémités de la poignée et orienté essentiellement transversalement par rapport à la direction longitudinale de la poignée. Cette dernière comprend un pivot sur chacune de ses extrémités. Une extrémité d'un raccord articulé est fixée à un mécanisme de verrouillage de fenêtre, tandis que l'autre extrémité pivotante est sélectivement fixée sur un des pivots de la poignée. Le logement comporte une première face essentiellement planaire qui constitue en grande partie la surface complète de la poignée visible dans l'ouverture du logement lorsque la poignée est dans sa première position et essentiellement en relation coplanaire avec la première surface du logement. Un coulisseau se déplace sélectivement dans un creux aménagé sur une des extrémités de la poignée pour empêcher cette dernière de pivoter. Le déplacement manuel de la poignée de la première position à la seconde se fait en poussant sur l'extrémité de la première surface de l'actionneur.
