An apparatus and associated method for drying a wet web of paper comprising a drying section for increasing the dry solids content of a wet web of paper, a cleaning section disposed at least not above the drying section, and a continuous drying fabric forming a loop at least about the drying section and the cleaning section. The fabric receives the web along an upper portion of the loop before the drying section, wherein the web is supported on an upper surface of the fabric. The fabric then transports the web through the drying section in a non-inverting web run to increase the dry solids content of the web before the web is separated from the fabric. Once web is separated from the fabric, the fabric travels through the cleaning section to be cleaned before returning to receive more of the wet paper web thereon.
La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé associé destinés au séchage d'une bande de papier mouillée. Cet appareil comprend une sécherie pour augmenter la teneur en matière sèche d'une bande de papier, un épurateur disposé au moins ailleurs qu'au-dessus de la sécherie, et un tissu sécheur continu formant une boucle au moins à proximité de la sécherie et de l'épurateur. Le tissu reçoit la bande sur une partie supérieure de la boucle avant la sécherie, la bande reposant sur une surface supérieure du tissu. Le tissu amène ensuite la bande dans la sécherie selon un déplacement non inverseur pour augmenter la teneur en matière sèche de la bande avant qu'elle ne soit séparée du tissu. Lorsque la bande est séparée du tissu, ce dernier défile dans l'épurateur en vue d'être nettoyé avant de recevoir un peu plus de bande de papier mouillée.
