An improved drive mechanism for a conveyor. An endless belt is mounted for travel on the frame of the conveyor and is driven by a drive unit (9). The drive unit (9) includes a supporting structure or housing (10) that carries a power source, such as a motor (22). The output shaft (24) of the motor is connected by a flexible drive member (26) to a pair of drive spindles (19, 20) that support the conveyor belt (3). The spindles which are journaled for rotation on slides (41, 43) that are mounted far movement on the supporting structure of the drive unit. A drive mechanism, such as a fluid cylinder (47), is operably connected to the slides (41, 43) to move the slides in unison to tension the belt (3).
Mécanisme d'entraînement perfectionné destiné à un transporteur. Une courroie sans fin est montée de manière à se déplacer sur le châssis du transporteur, cette courroie sans fin étant entraînée par une unité d'entraînement (9) qui comprend une structure de support ou un carter (10) destiné à une source de puissance telle qu'un moteur (22). L'arbre mené (24) du moteur est connecté par l'intermédiaire d'un élément d'entraînement souple (26) à une paire d'axes d'entraînement (19, 20) qui supportent la courroie (3) du transporteur.
