Methods are disclosed for predicting the efficacy of a drug for treating hypertension in a patient, including: obtaining a sample of cells from the patient; obtaining a gene expression profile from the sample in the absence and presence of in vitro modulation of the cells with specific mediators; and comparing the gene expression profile of the sample with a reference gene expression profile, wherein similarity between the sample expression profile and the reference expression profile predicts the efficacy of the drug for treating hypertension in the patient.

Selon ces méthodes pour prévoir l'efficacité d'un médicament pour traiter l'hypertension chez un patient, on prélève un échantillon de cellules chez le patient, on produit un profil d'expression génétique à partir de l'échantillon, en l'absence et en présence d'une modulation in vitro des cellules avec des médiateurs spécifiques, et on compare le profil d'expression génétique de l'échantillon avec un profil d'expression génétique de référence. La similarité entre le profil d'expression génétique de l'échantillon et le profil d'expression génétique de référence permet de prévoir l'efficacité du médicament pour traiter l'hypertension chez un patient.
