A method and apparatus for expressing and collecting mother's milk from a donor utilizing an adapted breastpump assembly. The breast shield (12) is adapted for engagement with a donor's breast to facilitate the expression of mother's milk therefrom. A temporary reservoir is established between the flexible membrane (20) and a portion of the breast shield (12), the temporary reservoir is provided to initially collect mother's milk upon expression from the donor's breast. This configuration enables the donor to assume a reclined position during the expression process and at least initially collect expressed mother's milk in the temporary fluid reservoir. The membranes (120,220) disclosed also have unique surface features. A bypass assembly (36) may be provided for conveying mother's milk from the temporary reservoir to a collection receptacle. Utilizing the supplemental configuration, a donor mother need not raise from a reclined position to accommodate any stage of the expression procedure.
La présente invention concerne une méthode et un appareil d'expression et de collecte de lait maternel d'une donneuse à l'aide d'un ensemble tire-lait adapté. La téterelle est conçue pour être mise en contact avec le sein d'une donneuse de manière à faciliter l'expression du lait maternel. Un réservoir temporaire est constitué entre la membrane flexible et une partie de la téterelle, le réservoir temporaire est utilisé pour initialement collecter le lait maternel lors de l'expression du sein de la donneuse. Cette configuration permet à la donneuse d'adopter un décubitus lors du processus d'expression et au moins de collecter initialement le lait maternel exprimé dans le réservoir pour liquide temporaire. Les membranes selon l'invention présentent également des caractéristiques de surface uniques. Un ensemble de dérivation peut être utilisé pour transférer le lait maternel, du réservoir temporaire à un réceptacle de collecte. Par utilisation de la configuration supplémentaire, une mère donneuse n'a pas besoin de quitter le décubitus pour s'adapter à une quelconque étape de la procédure d'expression.
