ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A folding chair with a height adjustable seat comprising a seat portion and at least a pair of legs for supporting the seat portion above the ground surface. The height of the seat can be adjusted by varying the spacing between the legs. The seat portion is provided with a continuous elongated track having first and second contiguous segments, the first segment having a pair of abutments positioned at spaced apart locations along the track. A runner projecting from one of the legs is slidable in the track to selectively engage either one of the abutments and set the seat portion of the chair at the desired height position. By moving the runner in the second portion of the track, the chair is caused to assume a folded condition.
