A raised road marker (200) has a flat bottom surface (208) with an outer periphery. At least one cavity (214, 216) opens onto the bottom surface laterally inwardly of the periphery and extends upwardly into the marker body. A venting groove (218) extends along the bottom surface (208) from the cavity (214, 216) to the periphery to provide a vent for air trapped in the cavity (214, 216) when the marker is urged into a pool of adhesive to secure the marker to a roadway. The venting of air provides a stronger bond between the marker and adhesive. Markers having a rounded top surface (202) may be provided with a flat bottom portion (204) with abutment surfaces (210) to facilitate movement of a line of the markers in an automated system.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de marquage routier en relief (200), présentant une surface inférieure plate (208) pourvue d'une circonférence extérieure. Au moins une cavité (214, 216) est ménagée sur cette surface inférieure, sur le coté intérieur de sa circonférence, cette cavité s'étendant vers le haut, dans le corps du dispositif. Une rainure d'aération (218) s'étend le long de ladite surface inférieure (208), de la cavité (214, 126) à la circonférence, formant ainsi un évent pour l'air enfermé dans ladite cavité (214, 126) lorsque le dispositif effectue un dépôt d'adhésif, afin d'être consolidé à la route. L'évacuation de l'air constitue un lien solide entre le dispositif et l'adhésif. Les dispositifs de marquage présentant une surface supérieure arrondie (202) peuvent également être pourvus d'un fond plat (204) présentant des surfaces d'appui, ce qui facilite le déplacement d'un alignement de dispositifs dans un système automatisé.
