A fuel burner is provided for introducing liquid fuel and air into a combustion furnace. An air tube (40) is disposed about a jet tube (36) adapted to supply a fuel-air mixture to the combustion chamber. The annular passage (10) formed between the air tube (40) and the jet tube (36) merges into an annular outlet port (22) defined by a constricting conical wall (24) to converge the flow of primary air into the combustion chamber. Swirler means comprising a plurality of swirler blades (20) are arranged in the annular passage to impart a vortex motion to the converging primary air flow.

L'invention porte sur un brûleur de combustible qui permet d'introduire un combustible liquide et de l'air dans une chambre de combustion. Un tube à air (40) est placé autour d'une tuyère (36) adaptée à alimenter la chambre de combustion avec un mélange de combustible et d'air. Le passage annulaire (10) formé entre le tube à air (40) et la tuyère (36) se transforme en un orifice de sortie annulaire (22) défini par une paroi conique étranglée (24) qui favorise la convergence du flux d'air primaire dans la chambre de combustion. Des coupelles de turbulence comprenant plusieurs pales (20) sont placées dans le passage annulaire afin de produire un effet tourbillonnaire sur le flux d'air primaire convergent.
