The invention concerns a method for assembling electroconductive parts by electric current heating. Said method is characterised in that it consists in moving forward electrodes (10, 20) with different polarities, towards the parts (30, 40) to be assembled, and in contacting said electrodes with at least one of the parts (30) to be assembled, current being applied to said electrodes (10, 20). Thus, the electroconductive parts (30, 40) are locally heated and assembled by the current flowing through them to pass from one electrode to the other. The invention also concerns a device for implementing said method and its use for assembling hollow parts, tubes or large dimension objects with sheet metal or other hollow parts.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'assembler des pièces électroconductrices par chauffage au moyen d'un courant électrique. Ce procédé se caractérise en ce que l'on fait avancer des électrodes (10, 20), de polarités différentes, du même côté, en direction des pièces (30, 40) à assembler, et en ce que l'on met en contact ces électrodes avec au moins une des pièces (30) à assembler, du courant étant appliqué auxdites électrodes (10, 20). Ainsi, les pièces électroconductrices (30, 40) sont chauffées localement et assemblées par le flux de courant qui les traverse pour aller d'une électrode à l'autre. L'invention concerne également un dispositif permettant la mise en oeuvre dudit procédé ainsi que son utilisation pour assembler des pièces creuses, des tubes ou des objets de grande taille avec des tôles ou d'autres pièces creuses.
