The invention relates to the principle of a probe to improve the quality of imaging logs in excavations providing especially a good coverage of the wall (2) of the excavation by the beam of detectors (4) or electrodes. The basic component consists of a casing (6) moulded from an elastomeric material and made to allow it to be unfolded in the working position for helical measuring regions (7) and applied against the wall (2). The material of the measurement regions (7) is selected depending upon the parameter to be measured and the immediate but non-restrictive applications concern microresistive and acoustic imaging. The helical arrangement of the detectors (4) improves the coverage of the measurements over that of conventional probes. Moreover, by eliminating the drilling mud (3) between the detectors (4) and the formation, this probe improves their response and the quality of the measurements in certain cases, like acoustic imaging, for example.

L'élément de base est constitué d'une enveloppe (6) moulée à partir d'un matériau genre élastomère et réalisé de façon à permettre le déploiement en position de travail des zones de mesures (7) disposées hélicoïdalement, venant s'appliquer contre la paroi (2). Le matériau des zones (7) de mesures est choisi en fonction du paramètre à mesurer, les applications immédiates mais non limitatives concernant l'imagerie microrésistive et acoustique. L'implantation hélicoïdale des capteurs (4) améliore le recouvrement des mesures par rapport aux sondes classiques. Par ailleurs, en éliminant la boue (3) de forage entre les capteurs (4) et la formation, cette sonde améliore, dans certains cas comme l'imagerie acoustique par exemple, la réponse de ceux-ci et la qualité des mesures.
