The invention relates to an improved electrical connector, especially designed for the terminals and drivers of high density ZIF sockets. Its special characteristics are in that the terminal uses a strip of metal that when punched and formed into a longer support piece and shorter support piece also forms intersecting upper and lower first and second contacts which provides the connector with both upper and lower conducting surfaces. By means of this, the terminal can be placed within the slots of the socket and can also make effective conductive contact with the PGA pins. This avoids the problems that appear with single conducting surfaces which can easily result in elasticity wear which in turn cause poor connections to occur. These improvements effectively redvce the defect rate and raise the connector's service life.
