A plurality of droplets of a liquid sample containing a biological substance are applied to positions where all the droplets join with one another on a surface of a water repellent substrate by using a microarrayer of the ink-jet type having a jet tip, the microarrayer exerting a pressure on the liquid sample contained therein to eject a droplet amount of the liquid sample from the j et tip, to form a spot constructed by an integrated body of the plurality of the droplets on t:he surface of the substrate. This enables easy, efficient and uniform production of spots of sizes that can be easily observed visually by using a non-contact type microarrayer capable of farming minute spots.
