A Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) capable of consistent performance over a wide temperature range. The PDLC includes electrodes connected to each of the resistive layers, such as ITO layers, of the PDLC. A FET switch couples each electrode to a corresponding capacitor. The capacitors are charged using a power source. The energy stored in the capacitors can be transferred to the resistive layers to heat the PDLC. A controller can pulse the FET switches to control the amount of energy transferred from the capacitors to the resistive layers.
L'invention concerne un obturateur à cristaux liquides dispersés dans une matrice polymère (PDLC) permettant d'obtenir un rendement régulier dans une large plage de températures. Cet obturateur PDLC comprend des électrodes connectées à chacune des couches résistives, telles que des couches d'ITO, de l'obturateur PDLC. Un commutateur TEC couple chaque électrode à un condensateur correspondant. Les condensateurs sont chargés au moyen d'une source d'énergie. L'énergie stockée dans les condensateurs peut être transférée aux couches résistives en vue du chauffage de l'obturateur PDLC. Un contrôleur peut envoyer une impulsion aux commutateurs TEC en vue d'une régulation de la quantité d'énergie transférée des condensateurs aux couches résistives.
