The invention concerns a novel use of partly pre-hydrated lime with delayed reactivity, consisting of 40 to 98 wt. % of CaO and 60 to 2 wt. % of Ca(OH)2, preferably 80 to 92 wt. % of CaO and 20 to 8 wt. % of Ca(OH)2, and more preferably 85 to 90 wt. % of CaO and 15 to 10 wt. % of Ca(OH)2, for separating solid matters from liquid in a suspension. The invention also concerns a method for treating sludge, which consists in concentrating, drying and collecting the solid matters using said partly pre-hydrated lime with delayed reactivity. The invention further concerns the purified sludge obtained by said method as novel industrial product.

La présente invention concerne une nouvelle utilisation de chaux partiellement pré-hydratée à réactivité retardée (en abrégé : « CVRR »), qui est constituée de 40 à 98 % en poids de CaO et de 60 à 2 % en poids de Ca(OH)2, de préférence de 80 à 92 % en poids de CaO et de 20 à 8 % en poids de Ca(OH)2, et mieux de 85 à 90 % en poids de CaO et de 15 à 10 % en poids de Ca(OH)2, dans le domaine de la séparation des matières solides du liquide d'une suspension. Elle concerne également un procédé de traitement d'une boue, dans lequel on concentre, sèche et recueille les matières solides au moyen de . ladite chaux partiellement pré-hydratée à réactivité retardée. Elle concerne enfin, en tant que produit industriel nouveau, la boue purifiée obtenue selon ce procédé.
