The present invention provides a polynucleotide which identifies and encodes a novel human monocyte chemotactic proprotein (MCPP). The invention provides for genetically engineered expression vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid sequence encoding MCPP. The invention also provides for the use of substantially purified MCPP and its agonists, antibodies, antagonists or inhibitors in pharmaceutical compositions for treatment of diseases associated with expression of MCPP. Additionally, the invention provides for use of antisense molecules in pharmaceutical compositions for treatment of diseases associated with the expression of MCPP. The invention also describes diagnostic assays which utilize diagnostic compositions comprising the polynucleotide, fragments or the complement thereof, which hybridize with the genomic sequence or transcripts of MCPP and anti-MCPP antibodies which specifically bind to MCPP.
La présente invention porte sur un polynucléotide qui identifie et code une nouvelle proprotéine chémotactique de monocyte humain (MCPP). L'invention concerne des vecteurs d'expression produits par génie génétique et des cellules hôtes comprenant la séquence nucléotidique codant la MCPP. On décrit également l'utilisation de MCPP sensiblement purifiée et de ses agonistes, anticorps, antagonistes ou inhibiteurs dans des compositions pharmaceutiques destinées au traitement de maladies liées à l'expression de la MCPP, ainsi que l'utilisation de molécules antisens dans des compositions pharmaceutiques pour le traitement de maladies liées à l'expression de la MCPP. La présente invention concerne également des méthodes diagnostiques qui font appel à des compositions diagnostiques comprenant ledit polynucléotide, des fragments ou le complément de ce dernier, lesquels s'hybrident avec la séquence génomique ou les transcripts de la MCPP et des anticorps anti-MCPP qui se lient spécifiquement à la MCPP.
