TITLE: NOZZLE FOR A LIQUID CONTAINER INVENTOR: JOHN ERNEST AMREIN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A nozzle for a liquid container has first and second nozzle parts. The first nozzle part has a flange for engaging a collar to secure it to a container. A sealing member abuts the flange and includes a first sealing surface rebutting a neck of a container and a second sealing surface. A second nozzle part has an outlet opening and slidably engages the first nozzle part. A spring acts between the first and second nozzle parts to urge them apart. A valve member is secured to the second nozzle part and includes a closure member adapted to abut /the second sealing surface under the action of the spring means to close the nozzle. The sealing member thus has a dual function, namely forming a seal with the neck of a container and forming a seal with the closure member.
