A screw is provided, which includes a shank portion, a continuous spiral-shaped thread on the shank portion, and several cutting trenches, which are formed between every two adjacent portions of the spiral thread on the shank, and which together form several non-continuous spiral trenches; thus, small pieces can be cut away from a workpiece by edges of the cutting trenches, and the small cut away pieces can be held in the cutting trenches when the screw is being screwed into the workpiece.
