Methods for assessing contrast-enhanced lesions using a dynamic contrast-enhancing magnetic resonance imaging system. The kinetics of the wash-out volume of voxels in the imaged lesions are compared against a threshold value to characterize the lesion as malignant or benign. In other embodiments, the threshold value in a region of interest is compared to the values around the region of interest to size the lesion.

Linvention porte sur des procédés permettant d'évaluer des lésions à amélioration de contraste en utilisant un système dimagerie par résonance magnétique à amélioration de contraste dynamique. Selon linvention, la cinétique du volume délimination de voxels dans les lésions imagées est comparée à une valeur seuil pour caractériser la lésion comme étant maligne ou bénigne. Selon dautres modes de réalisation, la valeur seuil dans une région dintérêt est comparée aux valeurs autour de la région dintérêt afin de déterminer la dimension de la lésion.
