A two part suture screw for anchoring tissue and bone is disclosed. The suture screw includes a threaded outer sleeve having a longitudinal bore extending therethrough. A pin having a conical insertion tip is provided and includes a proximally extending shaft configured for insertion in the longitudinal bore of the outer sleeve. The shaft includes a trasverse bore through the pin for slidingly receiving a length of suture. A pair of channels extend from the transverse bore proximally along the outer surfaces of the shaft. The sleeve is provided with corresponding channels which extend proximally from a point adjacent the throughbore to form a complete bore for free sliding receipt of the suture within the suture screw. The suture contemplated for use with the disclosed suture screw has a diameter smaller than that of the transverse bore and the bores formed by the channels of the pin and sleeve to allow the suture to freely slide therein. A method of using the suture anchor to anchor tissue to bone is also disclosed.
Cette invention concerne une vis en deux parties pour suture qui permet de fixer des tissus sur des os. Cette vis pour suture comporte un manchon extérieur fileté traversé par un alésage longitudinal. Une goupille avec pointe conique d'insertion comprend une tige proximale venant s'insérer dans l'alésage longitudinal du manchon extérieur. Cette goupille présente un passage transversal destiné à recevoir de façon coulissante une certaine longueur de fil de suture. Une paire de rainures part de l'alésage transversal de façon proximale le long des surfaces extérieures de la tige. Le manchon comporte des rainures correspondantes qui partent de façon proximale d'un point à proximité du passage transversal pour former un alésage complet dans lequel le fil de suture peut coulisser librement à l'intérieur de la vis pour suture. La suture prévue pour être utilisée avec la vis de l'invention présente un diamètre inférieur à l'alésage transversal et les alésages formés par les rainure de la tige et du manchon permettent au fil de suture de coulisser librement à l'intérieur. Est également décrite une méthode d'utilisation de cette vis pour la fixation de tissu sur un os.
