ABSTRACT The invention concerns a process for the quantitative determination substances such as illness specific antigens in a patient sample, with a predetermined weight or volume, through analysis. A patient sample undergoes a freeze concentration, is analyzed by standard quantitative analysis methods such as immunoassay techniques, and then the substance content is calculated back to the original sample volume or weight. An excellent sensitivity improvement is attained. The process is particularly useful in determining low concentrations of prostate specific antigens. 28
