A cobalt-nickel alloy composition is disclosed comprising, by weight about 30% to about 50% cobalt, about 20% to about 40% nickel, at least about 10% chromium, aluminum; and at least one refractory metal. Moreover, the alloy composition comprises an L1Z-structured .gamma.' phase having the formula (Co, Ni)3(Al,Z), wherein Z is at least one refractory metal. Various components made from, or cladded with, the cobalt-nickel alloy compositions are also described.
