Apparatus and related method for facilitating and controlling the flow within, and out of a particulate matter bulk storage facility. The apparatus includes a pre-shaped member (26), preferably in the form of a substantially impermeable plate (26), held within the storage facility (10), in a substantially horizontal orientation, above a discharge port (22). The pre- shaped member (26) is of a predetermined size and shape and is located at a predetermined height above the discharge port (22). A vibrator unit (30) is attached to the pre-shaped member (26) and preferably supplied with power transmitted through a flexible conduit (34) which does not restrict the motion of the vibrator (30) and the pre-shaped member (26). Operation of the vibrator (30) causes the pre-shaped member (26) to oscillate thereby creating moving voids and shock waves within the stored material which promotes an even velocity profile across the storage facility and produces a mass flow unloading pattern.

Ledit élément pré-formé (26) possède une taille et une forme prédéterminées et est placé à une hauteur prédéterminée au-dessu de l'orifice (22) d'évacuation. Une unité vibrante (30) est fixée à l'élément pré-formé (26) et est de préférence alimentée par du courant transmis à travers une gaine souple (34) qui n'entrave pas le mouvement de l'unité vibrante (30), ni de l'élément pré-formé (26). Le fonctionnement de l'unité vibrante (30) provoque l'oscillation de l'élément pré-formé (26), ce qui crée des déplacements de vides et des ondes de choc dans le matériau stocké, favorise une vitesse constante dans l'installation de stockage et permet d'obtenir un déchargement régulier de la masse de produit.
