The present invention provides a new chemically modified 4- dedimethylaminotetracycline compounds that can be substituted with aryl, alkenyl, or alkynyl groups. The 7, 8, and/or 9 positions and methods for preparing such compounds. Other tetracycline compounds include the 4- dedimethylaminotetracycline derivatives with an oxime group, NH-Alkyl, or N-NH- Alkyl group substituted at the C4 position as well as C2 Mannich derivatives. The present invention also provides a method of treating a mammal suffering from conditions or diseases by administering to the mammal an effective amount of the new chemically modified tetracycline compounds.
L'invention concerne des composés de la 4-dediméthylaminotétracycline chimiquement modifiés qui peuvent être substitués par des groupes aryle, alcényle ou alcynyle. Elle concerne aussi les positions 7, 8, et/ou 9 et des procédés de préparation de tels composés. D'autres composés de tétracycline comprennent les dérivés de la 4-dediméthylaminotétracycline obtenus avec un groupe oxime, NH-Alkyle, ou un groupe N-NH-Alkyle substitué en position C4 ainsi que des dérivés de Mannich en C2. L'invention concerne enfin une méthode de traitement d'un mammifère souffrant de troubles ou e maladies par l'administration à ce mammifère d'une quantité efficace des composés de tétracycline modifiés chimiquement.
