The invention concerns a method for launching an application using a mobile equipment (26), characterised by the following steps: introducing a sequence comprising only numbers and/or characters * or # in said mobile equipment placed in the same mode as for introducing a telephone call sequence, confirming introduction of the sequence by pressing on the connection set-up key; a programme in said mobile equipment and/or in an identification card in said mobile equipment launches said application when sequence has a predefined particular syntax.
