A data processing system (48) program to develop, train, and implement a neural network for identifying customers who represent a bad debt risk is disclosed. A feature vector is applied to a neural network to generate outputs that approximate the relative likelihood that customers who are the subjects of the records used to generate the feature vector will be a bad debt risk. Statistical values (58) relating categorical attributes (50) of the customers to the likehood of their becoming a bad debt risk are substituted for the categorical attributes (50), and the attributes are normalized before the feature vector is applied to the network. In one embodiment the customers are customers of a long distance service provider.
Système de traitement de données servant à créer, à instruire et à mettre en application un réseau neural permettant d'identifier des clients présentant un risque élevé d'endettement. On applique un vecteur de caractéristiques à un réseau neural afin de générer des sorties s'approchant de la vraisemblance relative que des clients faisant l'objet des écritures utilisées pour générer ce vecteur de caractéristiques présenteront un risque élevé d'endettement. On remplace des valeurs statistiques associant des attributs catégoriques de clients à leur susceptibilité de s'endetter dangereusement par ces attributs catégoriques et on normalise ces attributs avant d'appliquer le vecteur de caractéristiques au réseau. Dans un mode de réalisation, ces clients sont des clients d'un fournisseur de services à grande distance.
