A pulling-in point setting circuit (16) sets, prior to optical disk (11) reproducing, a median value between the maximum and minimum values of a focus error signal of a layer (1) as a focus servo pulling-in point. At a layer jump before the automatic regulation of a focus bias, a focus servo is pulled in at this point, thereby enabling a positive layer jump even before focus bias regulating.
