The present invention provides a method for monitoring a condition of an electrical cable, the method comprising providing a reference signal CH0 and a signal CH1, said signal CH1 being the reference signal CH0 after amplitude and phase modulation by a cable impedance ZDUT of the electrical cable; calculating the cable impedance ZDUT as a function of the applied signal frequency based on the reference signal CH0 and the signal CH1; and analyzing said cable impedance providing an assessment of the cable condition. A system performing the method is also disclosed.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé permettant de contrôler l'état d'un câble électrique, qui consiste : à fournir un signal de référence CH0 et un signal CH1, ledit signal CH1 étant le signal de référence CH0 après une modulation en amplitude et en phase par une impédance de câble ZDUT du câble électrique ; à calculer l'impédance de câble ZDUT, qui est fonction de la fréquence du signal appliqué sur la base du signal de référence CH0 et du signal CH1 ; et à analyser ladite impédance de câble, ce qui permet d'obtenir une évaluation de l'état du câble. L'invention a également trait à un système permettant de mettre en oeuvre ledit procédé.
