In regards to the common insect or fly swatter as it is ordinarily referred to, it is known that the normal wire and molded plastic handles and shafts are difficult to grasp firmly in the hand and clumsy to operate. The user of the insect swatter looses both accuracy and effectiveness to these shortcomings. In this invention both the shaft and handle are replaced with much more robust pieces which are equivalent in function but much more effective in their utility. This insect swatter uses a handle similar in construction to badminton or tennis rackets plus a rigid shaft made of a composite type material such as, but not limited to, fiberglass or graphite. The head or "blade" of the swatter remains similar in construction to conventional wire handle/shaft insect swatters. The net effect of these modifications is an insect swatter with excellent control and coordination.
