A method of processing multichannel and multivariate signals as described hereinbefore, wherein the signals from each channel are subjected to a first processing step by a recirculation artificial neural network being trained to generate the recorded multichannel and multivariate signals; and a second processing step in which the weights of the connections between the knots of the recirculation neural network determined in the first processing step are processed by an artificial neural network, the recirculation neural network being preferably of the non supervised kind. A particular family of recirculation neural network which can be used according to the present invention is a so called auto-associative neural network. The method further provides, in combination, the use of a predictive and/or classification and/or clustering algorithm for determining the qualities or features of objects from the multichannel multivariate signals generated by said object, the weight matrix obtained by processing said multichannel and multivariate signals with a self-associated neural network being used as records for representing said multichannel and multivariate signals. The method is used for patients suffering from neurological disorders for analysing and evaluating the EEG patterns of these patients.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement de signaux multivoies et multivariables, qui consiste à soumettre les signaux de chaque voie à une première étape de traitement par un réseau neuronal artificiel de recirculation entraîné pour générer les signaux multivoies et multivariables enregistrés, et à une seconde étape de traitement au cours de laquelle les poids des liaisons entre les nAEuds du réseau neuronal de recirculation déterminés lors de la première étape sont traités par un réseau neuronal artificiel, le réseau neuronal de recirculation étant de préférence de type non supervisé. Une gamme particulière de réseau neuronal de recirculation pouvant être utilisée selon la présente invention comprend un réseau neuronal dit auto-associatif. Le procédé consiste également à combiner un algorithme de prédiction et/ou de classification et/ou de regroupement pour déterminer les qualités ou caractéristiques d'objets à partir des signaux multivoies et multivariables générés par cet objet, la matrice de pondération obtenue par traitement desdits signaux avec un réseau neuronal auto-associé servant d'enregistrements pour représenter les signaux multivoies et multivariables. Le procédé est appliqué à des patients souffrant de troubles neurologiques pour analyser et évaluer leurs profils d'électroencéphalogramme.
