Abstract of the Invention A waste material containing aluminum, silicon, calcium, or nitrogen elements is destroyed by treatment in a molten salt pool or bath. An oxygen containing gas is introduced simultaneously into the pool melt and above the melt to produce a gaseous combustion product free of NOx compounds and a retained ash that will not form deposits within the sparged bed. 0797m
