213PUS04422 ABSTRACT A method and apparatus for facilitating insulation of cryogenic devices such as piping, dewars, tanks, superconducting assemblies and the like. A sleeve having a generally circular cross-section and a diameter slightly larger than the cryogenic device is fabricated from a material preferably having low thermal emissivity and covered with the required thickness of insulation so that what the insulated sleeve with the device installed inside is placed into a housing or jacket the required heat leak from the device when in use is achieved.
