The present invention features methods for specifically micropositioning cells on a substratum. Cell-adhesive substances that bind to naturally-occurring or artificially-attached cell-surface moieties are deposited onto the substratum (e.g., using an inkjet printer), after which cells are incubated with the substratum such that they attach to the substratum via the cell-adhesive substances. The methods of the invention can be used to generate complex two- and three-dimensional patterns containing multiple cell types, e.g., for tissue engineering.

La présente invention concerne des procédés permettant un positionnement micrométrique spécifique de cellules sur un substrat. En l'occurrence, on dépose sur le substrat, par exemple au moyen d'une imprimante à jet d'encre, des substances d'adhésion cellulaire qui se lient à des groupes fonctionnels apparaissant de façon naturelle ou se fixant de façon artificielle à la surface des cellules. Par la suite, on met à incuber les cellules avec le substrat de façon qu'elles se fixent sur le substrat par l'intermédiaire des substances d'adhésion cellulaire. Les procédés de l'invention conviennent à la production de structures complexes bidimensionnelles ou tridimensionnelles contenant différents types de cellules, par exemple, pour le génie tissulaire.
