In a fuel cell stack (23) , first cells (10a) are provided only at and in the vicinity of the end part of the fuel cell stack that is overall negative during fuel cell electrical generation. Second cells (10b) are provided at other locations in the stack location, so that flooding is unlikely to occur. The resistance to flooding of the first cells is made longer than that of the second cells, e.g. by providing gas flow channels having a larger cross- sectional area or a smaller length.

L'invention concerne un assemblage de piles à combustible (23) dans lequel des premières piles (10a) sont disposées uniquement à l'extrémité et à proximité de l'extrémité de l'assemblage de piles à combustible qui est globalement négative au cours de la génération électrique des piles à combustible. Des secondes piles (10b) sont disposées à d'autres emplacements dans la zone de l'assemblage, un risque d'inondation étant ainsi peu probable. La résistance des premières piles à l'inondation est supérieure à celle des secondes piles, p. ex. grâce à des canaux d'écoulement de gaz présentant une section supérieure ou une longueur inférieure.
