The current invention provides a device (10), and a method for using the device (10), for ensuring that a capillary or wicking fill device (10) is fully filled. In particular this invention is directed to, but not limited to, use with capillary or wicking action filled electrochemical sensors suitable for use in analyzing blood or interstitial fluids. The device (10) includes a pre-chamber (12) capable of exerting a first capillary force and a sensing chamber (14) in fluid communication with the pre-chamber, the sensing chamber capable of exerting a second capillary force, wherein the differential between the capillary forces causes the flow of fluid from the pre-chamber (12) to the sensing chamber (14).

L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) et son procédé d'utilisation, permettant d'assurer que le dispositif à remplissage par capillarité ou effet de mèche (10) soit rempli intégralement. L'invention porte notamment, entre autres, sur l'utilisation avec des capteurs électrochimiques remplis par capillarité ou effet de mèche, convenant à l'analyse de sang ou de fluides interstitiels.
