An analog electronic circuit (100) is placed between the central office of a telecommunications provider and the customer premises equipment of a digital subscriber line system which uses unshielded twisted pair wires ("UTP"). The electronic circuit (100) separates the downlink signals from the uplink signals with a first mixer (400). The voice signals, if present, are routed around the electronic circuit (100) unmodified. The downlink signals are amplified (402), filtered (404), amplified (406) again with a one or more peaking equalization amplifier, then amplified with drivers (407) which provide the power to drive the downlink signal through second mixer onto the UTP lines to the customer premises equipment. The electronic circuit separates the uplink signals from the downlink signals with the second mixer. The uplink signals are ampli-f led, filtered, and amplified again, then driven onto the UTP connected with the central office throughthe first mixer.

Le circuit électronique sépare les signaux de liaison descendante des signaux de liaison montante avec un premier mélangeur. Les signaux vocaux, s~ils sont présents, sont acheminés non modifiés autour du circuit électronique. Les signaux de liaison descendante sont amplifiés, filtrés, amplifiés de nouveau avec un ou plusieurs amplificateurs d~égalisation de crêtes, puis amplifiés avec des excitateurs qui apportent la puissance pour entraîner le signal de liaison descendante à travers un second mélangeur sur les lignes UTP jusqu~au matériel de locaux d~abonné. Le circuit électronique sépare les signaux de liaison montante des signaux de liaison descendante avec le second mélangeur. Les signaux de liaison montante sont amplifiés, filtrés et amplifiés de nouveau, puis entraînés sur l~UTP connectée au central téléphonique par le premier mélangeur.
