A twin wire press for de-watering solid-liquid suspensions, such as pulp suspensions, between top and bottom webs is described herein which includes primary, secondary and tertiary de-watering stations. The twin wire press comprises a primary de-watering section including a wedge area, a secondary de-watering section adjacent to the primary section 16 downstream therefrom including grooved rolls in an s-roll configuration, and a tertiary de-watering section including press roll assemblies. Whenever maintenance is to be performed on any one of the grooved rolls or on the press roll assemblies, an overhead crane can for example be used since no frame structure is provided on top thereof.
