A method for generating refrigeration for cooling a product gas wherein a first or working gas undergoes a staged expansion to a first temperature and after warming undergoes a subsequent turboexpansion to a second higher temperature and both the expanded gas and the turboexpanded gas provide cooling to the product gas.

L'invention concerne un procédé mettant en oeuvre une réfrigération destinée à refroidir un gaz produit. Dans ce procédé, un premier gaz ou gaz de travail est soumis à une détente en plusieurs étapes jusqu'à une première température, et, après chauffage, est soumis à une turbodétente ultérieure jusqu'à une seconde température, supérieure à la première, le gaz détendu et le gaz turbodétendu assurant le refroidissement du gaz produit.
