A recess-ramp knee joint prosthesis com-prising a femoral and a tibial component is configured to reproduce normal kinematics and function. Asymmetric condular surfaces and a cupola of the femoral component interact with corresponding dished surfaces and a ramp of the tibia thereby duplicating the behavior of the anatomi-cal knee.
